Proposal ideas–Christmas
Once you have the perfect ring, all you have to do is come up with how to give it to her. Most men look for really creative, romantic, fun ideas to propose to their girlfriend. Holidays are probably the number one time for proposals. I think this is great, in some cases.
I personally told my husband that if he proposed to me on Christmas, I would say no. That’s just me. I wanted to have the day that he proposed to stand by itself and be special only for us. For other women, holidays are perfect for a proposal. I have one cousin that was proposed to on Christmas morning and she loved it! She was with family which was super important to her so it was perfect. I have another cousin who wasn’t proposed to on Christmas and she was really disappointed–until he proposed to her on a walk during the first snow fall of the year.
My husband proposed at the beach. He told me we were going to meet his friends for dinner but they were running late so why don’t we go for a walk before they get here? There was a park right next to the restaurant we were going to and it was up on a cliff overlooking the beach. We were just walking when he grabbed my hand and told me how much he loved me and when I looked down on the beach, his friends had written “Marry Me” in the sand. It was so sweet and it was the perfect proposal for me because I love water. The only thing that would have made it better is if we had been water skiing at the beach (but it was January and this way I looked better for the pictures).
I think Holiday proposals are great–if that is what your future fiance wants. Pay attention to what is important to them and don’t just propose on Christmas because it is the thing to do.

very level-headed, as usual, leah! i totally agree with everything you said on here. i think i told brian the same thing about proposing on valentine’s day, but i don’t think i really had to because we both thought it was really corny. but everyone is different, and i think that really comes through in a proposal. its kind of neat how when you hear how people get engaged it usually makes perfect sense for the couple.
