Questions
- How long does it take?
-
There are 2 parts to the process of getting you your custom piece. The second part of the process is the manufacturing and that usually takes about 3 weeks. If your piece needs to be shipped to you, please also allow for time for shipping or plan to pay a little extra for overnight shipping.
The first part of the process is the design process. I promise that I will get everything on my side done as quickly as I can without sacrificing quality. This part of the process is largely up to you as a customer and how many changes need to be made and how quickly we are able to go back and forth with each other. The design process can take anywhere from a few days to over month.
- Can you recycle my old jewelry?
- Yes and No. I love using people's stones that they already have and making a new piece that you will wear. I cannot however recycle your metal. I do not do my own casting at this point and my caster, to ensure the highest quality in their work, does not recycle metal themselves. If you sell your metal to someone who buys gold, they will recycle your metal and then you can use that cash to put toward a new piece!
- Can you match an existing piece of jewelry?
- I do not like to make EXACT copies of other people's work, but I am happy to use ideas from an existing piece in a new design. The only exception to that would be if you have a family heirloom or something that can not be replaced except by someone like me who can custom make a new piece of jewelry for you.
- How do you ship my jewelry to me and is it insured?
- I generally like to use the US post office because it is a federal offense to tamper with mail shipping through them (a little trick I learned when I worked in retail that help deter theft problems.) On top using what I feel is the safest carrier, I do pay extra to insure your package in case of loss or damage.
- Can you ship outside of the US?
- Absolutely! The only difference between working in the US and outside of the US is the way we measure ring sizes (and I have an easy to use printable ring sizer to ensure that the conversions are correct.) Please allow for a few more days for shipping (overnight may not be available) if you are overseas. I do not unfortunately speak any languages other than English.
- What metals can you work with?
- I can cast in Silver, 18K Gold--white and yellow, 14K Gold--white and yellow, 10K Gold-white and yellow, platinum, and palladium. I can not cast in stainless steel, titanium, or tungstun but I can order jewelry from other manufacturers that specialize in those alternative metals.
